Solid interior: design secrets
Create an interesting, harmonious and stylish interior in one color – it is just that in words. In fact, if you want to arrange a particular room in the prevailing shade, you need to take into account many factors and choose the same color with great foresight and caution. So where are the “pitfalls” of the design of monochrome interiors hiding and how can you not get the effect of monophonic madness as a result?
Room area
The dimensions of the room greatly affect the perception of color. Therefore, if you, for example, saw the stunning design of a spacious bedroom in dark gray colors, do not rush to “try on” this image on your room, if it is smaller than the original. It is likely that you will not get the desired effect – it is better to use the advice of professionals.
Architecture features
Even if this is not striking, believe me: the architecture of the building can have a serious impact on the interior design. If they clash with each other, then disappointment cannot be avoided. So, when choosing a dominant color, try not to forget about it. Experts, for example, recommend to avoid global use of too bright and the more acidic colors in a classic building.
How to choose a leading color for the interior
If you believe the teachings of Feng Shui and Vastu, you should choose the color for the interior that will attract positive energy and all sorts of benefits: love, financial success and so on. One of the most favorable shades in this context is lemon. Connoisseurs in the field of color therapy urge us to use in most bright, invigorating shades. What and whom to believe – everyone decides for himself, but more important is another question: can you feel comfortable in the interior, where only the “Right” color reigns?
Geographical features
As different styles of the interior are good in “their” edges, some monochromatic interiors may look appropriate / inappropriate in certain geographical conditions. For example, the pale blue interior in the photo: on condition of snow outside the window, the design of the room looks truly fabulous and certainly harmonious. But if you imagine the same room somewhere in a house on the sunny coast of Mexico …
Lighting is important
Moreover, not only artificial, but also natural. Solid interior can look in different lighting differently, but it should be equally comfortable for your eyes. The temperature and depth of the predominant color can be corrected by means of cold, warm and neutral light bulbs.
The role of textures and textures
It is equally important to remember that the same color on different surfaces looks different. And avoid this is not necessary! It is the wealth of textures and textures that make a solid interior interesting and more voluminous.
Monochrome palette
A harmonious, unobtrusive monophonic interior will work out only if you are able to competently use the monochrome palette of your chosen color. You should not dwell on one shade and try to get to the tone without fail. Each color covers many shades – use this. For example, if it is blue, then for the background you can take a muted sapphire or cobalt, and for accents – azure or cornflower blue.
“Supporting” color
For each color you can take in a pair of “supporting” shade, which will not be a contrast, but will favorably emphasize the depth of the dominant tone. For example, “partners” can be called blue and green, brown and gray (approximate in tone), red and orange, and so on.
