Blue color in the interior of the kitchen: designer tricks and beautiful examples

Blue in fashion today is a fact. However, if we talk about it in interior design, then less often its shades are found in the design of kitchens. Why it happens and how to embed blue color in kitchen design – we are telling right now. We also suggest that you look at a selection of photos of kitchen interiors in blue and make sure that most of the prejudices in this case are false.
Blue color in the interior of the kitchen: why it is rare and what stereotypes should be forgotten
First of all, the shades of blue are most often associated with the water element, so it would be logical to use them in the design of the bathroom than the kitchen. That is what usually happens. It would seem that nothing binds the blue color to the place for cooking and eating. Moreover, psychologists say that shades of the sea and sky can reduce appetite. But is it bad? If you love blue and watch your figure, then this is just what you need!
Also, some claim that the kitchen in blue just can not be comfortable, and this is the heart of the hearth and here should be comfortable! But, firstly, the blue color does not kill comfort when used correctly (more on this later), and secondly, a properly chosen shade is the key to everything, and especially to creating the desired atmosphere.
50 shades of blue: which one to choose?
If you are not afraid to use the blue color in kitchen design, but are lost in the variety of shades (and there are really a lot of them, moreover, they are all beautiful in their own way), ask yourself the right orienting questions. For example, how globally do you intend to use this color in the design of the room? If you want to make blue walls in the kitchen or select one of the walls in this way, it is better, of course, to choose more or less neutral shades. If these are local blotches or blue accents in the interior, then you can give preference to rich, deep tones. For example, a kitchen apron, lined with azulezhu style tiles with cobalt painting, looks very impressive.
In the case when the blue color is one of the main ones, but not the leading one (for example, if you decide to order a blue set for the kitchen), then it is best to focus on the interior style. Of course, there are no strict rules here, but there are certain recommendations. Thus, in modern styles, trendy colors according to the Pantone Institute are the best: airy blue (Airy Blue), river blue (Riverside) or a fashionable and expressive shade called lapis blue (Lapis Blue). For the kitchen in the English style, rich, muted shades of blue are well suited (for their advantages in interior design, read here).
It is also extremely important to take into account the mood that you want to give the kitchen interior. Light, pure shades of blue give lightness and a sense of order. Dark and complex, in turn, make the interior truly expensive and luxurious.
A few tips on the use of blue in the design of the kitchen
The blue color (especially its expressive shades) makes any piece of furniture more bulky and visually cumbersome. To neutralize this factor, experts recommend using white color. And the more blue, and the darker it is, the more white is required.
Deep blue, especially on a matte surface, literally absorbs light. Therefore, it is best to use these shades in rooms with windows facing the sunny side. If your kitchen is poorly illuminated by the sun, it is extremely important to take care of a good lighting scenario.
You can add comfort to the blue kitchen by means of wooden floor and / or wooden furniture. Also to achieve the desired effect will help the brilliance of yellow metals: brass, bronze, gold hardware.
